Heyn Engineering Solutions has been fitting and testing davits in the UK and Ireland for over a decade. Our Expert Engineers can supply, fit and test for all applications and provide you with the certification required. Our fitting service covers all types of davit sockets. The Reid Lifting, PORTA-DAVIT WLL 500Kg weighs just 24Kg and is a truly innovative one person pick up and go lifting solution. The PORTA-DAVIT 500 is supplied as a two piece, bagged davit jib crane and can be personnel lifting rated. It has a number of height/reach configurations and can be fitted with the PORTA-BASE for your convenience.

LOLER Testing
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) place regulations and requirements on providers of lifting equipment and lifting operations. Under these regulations it is necessary to have it tested and to ensure that maintenance of the equipment is up to date.

All of our sockets are made entirely from aluminium making it extremely lightweight, therefore easily portable and allows compliance with Manual Handling Regulations. The aluminium construction is ideal for wet external environments and the sockets are made from galvanised steel also making them ideal for long-term exposure to wet external conditions. Properly used and maintained, davits will give long life in arduous industrial environments, and will allow the user to carry out lifting operations efficiently and safely.
Davits are proof load tested to an overload in excess of standard requirements, usually 25% over SWL. By contractual agreement, the test is witnessed and approved by LEA and test instruments are calibrated to national standards. Man-riding equipment should be testing every six months and goods lifting equipment every twelve months.
